Start with the route and load
What details are needed for a transport quote?+
Provide the collection and delivery postcodes, ready date and time, what is moving, quantity, approximate weight and dimensions, loading method, site access and any timed-booking requirements. Estimates are fine when exact figures are not yet known.
What if I do not know the right vehicle?+
Choose Help me choose. Give the load size, weight, number of pallets or units, longest item and how it can be loaded. A suitable option is then confirmed before booking.
What affects the transport price?+
The route, vehicle, load size and weight, urgency, extra stops, waiting time, loading equipment, timed slots, ferries, tolls and specialist requirements can affect the price. The priced quote shows the agreed basis before booking.
Does submitting the form book a vehicle or create a charge?+
No. It creates an enquiry reference. The transport desk checks the details and sends a priced quote. A vehicle is not dispatched until the quote is accepted and booking arrangements are confirmed.
Know what you are accepting
What happens after I submit?+
You receive a reference and secure customer link. The transport desk reviews the route, load and timing, then provides the proposed vehicle, collection window, price, validity and relevant notes.
How do I accept or change the quote?+
Open the secure customer link to accept, request a change or decline. Acceptance is followed by a separate booking and dispatch confirmation from the transport desk.
How is payment handled?+
The payment method and terms are confirmed with the priced quote or booking. New or one-off customers may be asked for cleared payment before dispatch. Approved business credit terms are subject to checks and written agreement.
Is there a first-booking offer?+
Eligible new customers can receive 10% off the first confirmed booking, up to £100 off the eligible transport charge. The saving is itemised on the quote and invoice. Full eligibility and terms apply.
Routes, timing and updates
Can collection be within 60 minutes?+
For suitable urgent loads in covered areas, collection can be targeted from 60 minutes. It is not a blanket guarantee. The actual window depends on vehicle availability, traffic, route, load and site access and is confirmed with the quote.
Can a job include several collections or deliveries?+
Yes. Choose multiple collections, multiple deliveries, a return journey or a regular route, then list each postcode in journey order and mark whether it is a collection or delivery.
Will I receive tracking and proof of delivery?+
The secure customer link shows available job status updates. Proof of delivery can be downloaded from the same link when it has been uploaded for the movement.
Do you cover the whole UK?+
UK routes are handled from the Birmingham transport desk. Vehicle and timing are checked for the actual postcodes. Northern Ireland, islands, ferry routes and remote areas need route-specific confirmation. Read the coverage guide.
Prepare the load correctly
Who is responsible for packing and loading?+
Unless a different service is agreed in writing, the customer should ensure goods are safely packed, labelled and ready for road transport, with accurate weights and dimensions. State whether people, forklift, crane, tail-lift or other equipment is available at each site.
Can I request a two-person crew or driver assistance?+
Yes, select the requirement in the quote or add it to the notes. Availability, handling scope, site conditions and any extra charge must be confirmed before booking.
What goods need special approval?+
Declare hazardous or regulated goods, waste, controlled items, live animals, temperature-sensitive goods, abnormal loads, fragile cargo and high-value goods before booking. Specialist operator, packaging, documentation, permits or insurance checks may be required. An online enquiry is not acceptance of those goods.
What cargo photos or documents can I provide?+
After submitting, the secure confirmation screen accepts common images and PDF documents. Useful items include load photos, packing lists, site instructions and measurements. Do not upload unnecessary personal or confidential information.
Tell us as early as possible
What if the route, load or timing changes?+
Request a change through the secure customer link or contact the transport desk immediately. The vehicle, price and collection window may need to be revised before the booking can continue.
Can I cancel a movement?+
Contact the transport desk as soon as possible. Charges can apply after capacity has been allocated, a vehicle dispatched, or costs incurred. The applicable position is confirmed from the accepted quote and booking terms.
How do I raise a problem or provide feedback?+
Email Hodgehilltransport@gmail.com or call +44 7883 109443. Include the enquiry or booking reference, what happened and the outcome you need so the issue can be reviewed efficiently.
Where do I find my existing enquiry?+
Use the secure link in the acknowledgement email. You can also use the customer hub with the reference and matching email address.
